Abstract
- A study conducted at Columbia University Medical Center focused on the surgical outcomes and quality of life in patients who underwent C2-sacrum posterior spinal fusion (PSF). The research found that approximately 26% of patients required reoperations after the fusion, with improvements in patient-reported outcomes and activities of daily living observed postoperatively. The study concluded that patients who underwent C2-sacrum PSF had better quality of life compared to individuals with degenerative hip/knee arthritis and similar to those with chronic conditions like diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
