Abstract

Researchers at the University of Miami conducted a study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) in patients with obstructive uropathy (OU) due to bladder outlet obstruction (BOO). The study found that HoLEP was effective and safe in patients with OU, although they were at a higher risk of postoperative acute kidney injury. The research, which has been peer-reviewed, concluded that patients with OU showed significant improvement in serum creatinine levels postoperatively. [Extracted from the article]
