Abstract

A recent report from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center discusses the cost-effectiveness of total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) with selective nonoperative management for locally advanced rectal cancer. The study compared this approach with standard chemoradiotherapy-surgery-adjuvant chemotherapy (SOC) and found that TNT with selective NOM was more cost-effective. The research suggests that additional analyses are needed to validate these findings and explore other emerging treatment paradigms for locally advanced rectal cancer. [Extracted from the article]
