Abstract
- Researchers at Albany Medical Center conducted a study on cranial growth changes in the early postoperative period of patients undergoing endoscopic sagittal strip craniectomy (ESC) for sagittal craniosynostosis. The study aimed to analyze cranial width and length growth curves to determine the timing of maximal growth curve change and understand the cephalic index (CI) growth curve during this period. The research highlighted the importance of early postoperative cranial remolding orthosis (CRO) initiation, compliance, and properly fitting CROs, especially in the first two phases of growth. This data sets the stage for investigating the ideal treatment length for patients with isolated sagittal craniosynostosis. [Extracted from the article]
