Abstract
- A study conducted in Boston focused on awake supraglottic airway placement in pediatric patients with airway obstruction or difficult intubation. The study found that adequate ventilation was achieved in 85% of cases, with a 99% success rate for eventual intubation. The research concluded that awake placement of a supraglottic airway in children with difficult airways can provide a conduit for oxygenation and ventilation after anesthesia induction.
