Abstract

Recent research from the University of Illinois highlights the potential impact of GLP-1 RA therapy on thyroid stimulating hormone levels in post-thyroidectomy patients. A case study revealed suppressed TSH levels in a patient after starting subcutaneous semaglutide, leading to a dose reduction of levothyroxine. The study suggests the need for closer monitoring of patients on GLP-1 RA therapy and further research in this area to better understand the effects on thyroid function. [Extracted from the article]
