Abstract

Researchers at Mustansiriyah University conducted a study in Karbala City to estimate the prevalence of primary hypothyroidism and its clinical manifestations among patients receiving levothyroxine therapy. The study found that levothyroxine treatment improved symptoms such as sluggish speech, constipation, lack of appetite, cold sensitivity, weight gain, and weariness. The research concluded that there was no observed correlation between the dosage of levothyroxine and the manifestation of signs and symptoms. The study was published in the Al-Mustansiriyah Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2024. [Extracted from the article]
