Abstract

A recent study conducted at Assiut University Hospital focused on obstructive sleep apnea in non-obese individuals with snoring. The study aimed to identify upper airway obstruction patterns and potential risk factors in these patients to improve management and prevent related comorbidities. The research found that obstructive sleep apnea is common in non-obese patients, possibly attributed to retropalatal/oropharyngeal airway collapse and smoking as a risk factor. Further studies are needed to explore other pathophysiological aspects in this patient group. [Extracted from the article]
