Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Nong Lam University in Vietnam focused on estimating the costs of rabies control measures in Long An province in 2022. The study found that the total annual costs of rabies control were estimated to be around USD 2.67 to 2.68 million, with the majority of expenses being paid by the private sector rather than the public sector. The research concluded that mass vaccination for animals is more cost-effective than post-exposure treatment (PET) to prevent human deaths from rabies. [Extracted from the article]
