Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the Neuroimmunology Group in San Sebastian, Spain, focused on identifying biomarkers in extracellular vesicles (EVs) from cerebrospinal fluid and serum of individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). The research utilized the ExoView platform to track single EVs and quantify levels of specific proteins. While the tetraspanin EV pattern did not differentiate between types of MS, L1CAM+ and GLAST+ EVs showed potential as diagnostic markers, with GLAST+ EVs potentially offering insights into primary progressive MS. This study highlights the potential of EV biomarkers in the diagnostic evaluation and monitoring of MS progression. [Extracted from the article]
