Abstract

A recent study from the School of Pharmacy focused on the antioxidant potential and xanthine oxidase inhibition of flavonol glycosides from Phyllanthus emblica L. leaves. The research highlighted the potential of compounds from Phyllanthus emblica as alternative treatments for gout, with rutin showing stronger antioxidant capacity compared to quercitrin. The study concluded that flavonol glycosides from Phyllanthus emblica leaves exhibited potent xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity.
