Abstract

The evolving cyber landscape requires a growing number of qualified professionals to protect and defend digital information systems. There is a significant shortage of skilled candidates to meet this demand, posing risks to U.S. national security and global safety. Open Educational Resources (OER) reduce learning barriers by lowering costs, increasing access, and allowing educational materials to be adapted to specific needs. This study examines U.S. cyber faculty perceptions of OER in higher education using an adapted survey from the Babson Survey Research Group. Data from cyber professionals and academic conferences were analyzed to explore differences based on faculty experience and roles. Understanding these perceptions can clarify the role of OER in addressing cyber education challenges. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
