Abstract

The article discusses a study conducted at the University of Technology in Uganda on implementing heat-stable carbetocin and tranexamic acid for postpartum hemorrhage prevention and treatment in humanitarian settings. The study involved a capacity-strengthening package for providers in basic obstetric care clinics, resulting in increased utilization of heat-stable carbetocin and moderate adoption of tranexamic acid. The research emphasizes the importance of continuous capacity development and cold-chain strengthening to ensure the quality of medications used in postpartum hemorrhage management.
