Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the University of Rochester Medical Center focused on identifying risk factors associated with positive urine cultures following holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). The research found that positive preoperative cultures were predictive of positive postoperative cultures, but there were instances of discordance between the two results. The study suggests that host factors increasing susceptibility to bacteriuria may explain these findings. For more information, the full article can be accessed through Urology Annals.
