Abstract
- Research conducted at Hong Kong Baptist University focused on developing a lung cancer-targeted drug delivery system using extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from vascular endothelial cells. These EVs were engineered to carry GE11 peptides to target lung cancer cells overexpressing the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). The study found that the GE11-HUVEC-EVs loaded with vinorelbine effectively demonstrated tumoricidal effects in both in vitro and in vivo lung cancer models. This research offers a promising approach to overcoming challenges in lung cancer treatment by utilizing nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems. [Extracted from the article]
