Abstract
- Researchers from the Department of Chemical Engineering in Pondicherry, India, have developed new thermodynamic correlations for the solubility of pharmaceutical compounds in supercritical carbon dioxide. The study utilized Universal quasi-chemical Functional Group Activity Coefficient and Wilson models to propose activity coefficient models. The research focused on pharmaceutical compounds such as anticancer, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory drugs, comparing the newly proposed models with existing solid-fluid equilibrium models. The findings suggest that the new models show promise in correlating the solubility of pharmaceutical compounds in supercritical carbon dioxide. [Extracted from the article]
