Researchers at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University conducted a study on the impact of Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (LSG) on obese patients in China. The study focused on the changes in gut microbiota and their association with metabolic improvements post-surgery. Results showed a significant decrease in Body Mass Index (BMI) and improvements in glucose metabolism, liver function, and serum lipid levels after LSG.
