Abstract
- Researchers at Nagano Red Cross Hospital reported a case of an 81-year-old woman with no significant medical history who developed sphenoid sinusitis caused by Aggregatibacter aphrophilus. This rare case led to orbital cellulitis, meningitis, and venous sinus thrombosis, as confirmed by MRI and blood cultures. The patient responded well to antibiotics, anticoagulants, and surgical drainage, marking the first documented instance of this specific infection causing such severe complications.
