Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Careggi in Florence, Italy, focused on the survival and health care burden of children with retinoblastoma in Europe. The study, which analyzed data from 81 cancer registries in 31 European countries, found that the incidence of retinoblastoma remained stable at 4.0 per 1,000,000 European children aged 0 to 14 years from 2000 to 2013. Variations in survival rates were observed across different countries, with disparities persisting. The findings suggest the importance of monitoring retinoblastoma management and occurrences of second tumors to improve surveillance and treatment outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
