Abstract

A study conducted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Nanjing explored the impact of different aluminum coordination structures on its activation during soil acidification. The research found that minerals and soils containing Al-O tetrahedrons released more aluminum compared to those with Al-O octahedrons. This study provides valuable insights into the mechanisms of aluminum release in different soil types, aiding in the understanding of soil acidification and aluminum activation. The findings were published in the journal Pedosphere and were supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. [Extracted from the article]
