Abstract

Researchers from Guangxi University of Science and Technology conducted a study on the modification of red clay using calcium carbonate to improve its properties. The study found that a 20% calcium carbonate content reduced the plastic and liquid limits of the clay, as well as decreased the Montmorillonite content and shrinkage coefficient. The research also explored the impact of calcium carbonate on microscopic pores and developed a model for predicting the behavior of the modified soil. This study provides valuable insights for practical applications in soil modification. [Extracted from the article]
