Abstract

The article discusses a rise in Mycoplasma pneumoniae respiratory infections in Victoria from late 2023 to early 2024, following similar trends in China and Denmark. The infections primarily affect children and adolescents, with pneumonia being the most common manifestation. The rise in infections in Victoria was noted after the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions and continued until April 2024, with no increase in disease severity observed. Testing and treatment recommendations for M. pneumoniae infections are also discussed. [Extracted from the article]
