Abstract
- A study conducted at University Hospital Salamanca in Spain focused on chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) after haploidentical stem cell transplantation with posttransplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy). The research involved a retrospective analysis of 389 patients and found that the incidence and severity of cGVHD were lower compared to HLA-identical transplantation with conventional prophylaxis. Patients who developed moderate cGVHD had higher overall survival and event-free survival rates, suggesting a stronger graft-versus-leukemia effect. Further prospective studies are recommended to confirm these findings. [Extracted from the article]
