Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the Polish Academy of Sciences focused on the involvement of the Kinin B1 receptor in the increased permeability of cerebral microvessels in rats with autoimmune encephalomyelitis. The study found that the administration of a specific antagonist attenuated neurological symptoms in the rats and reduced the activation of astroglia, indicating that B1 R-mediated signaling plays a role in inducing molecular changes in cerebral microvessels. This research sheds light on the mechanisms underlying blood-brain barrier permeability during neuroinflammation in autoimmune encephalomyelitis. [Extracted from the article]
