Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Capital Medical University explored the use of denosumab therapy combined with resection and arthrodesis for the treatment of recurrent grade 3 giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) in the distal radius. The study included 23 patients who underwent wrist arthrodesis reconstruction using autogenous free iliac crest bone graft, bridging plate, and screws. The researchers evaluated the clinical outcomes, functional outcomes, and complications of the treatment. The study concluded that this combined approach shows promise for the treatment of recurrent GCTB in the distal radius, with acceptable short-term local control and functional satisfaction.
