Abstract

A recent study conducted in Maharashtra, India compared two surgical treatments for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) and bipolar resection of the prostate. The study included 60 patients and found that both procedures were equally effective in treating BPH. However, the bipolar resection of the prostate procedure had a smaller learning curve and was associated with lower costs. The study concluded that bipolar resection of the prostate is a feasible and cost-effective method for treating BPH patients. [Extracted from the article]
