Abstract

A recent study conducted in Chhattisgarh, India, explored the use of thoracic epidural anesthesia with ipsilateral interscalene nerve block for modified radical mastectomy (MRM) in patients with cardiorespiratory compromise. MRM is a common surgical procedure for breast carcinoma, but it can be challenging for patients with respiratory issues and comorbidities. The study found that combining thoracic epidural anesthesia with ipsilateral interscalene nerve block provided satisfactory anesthesia for MRM without the need for general anesthesia. This research offers a potential alternative for patients with specific health concerns undergoing MRM. [Extracted from the article]
