Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Baghdad examined the levels of electrolytes in children with steroid-sensitive or steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome. The study found that all children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome experienced hypocalcemia during both the relapse and remission phases. Additionally, children with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome had hyperkalemia, while sodium and chloride levels fluctuated between low levels during the relapse phase and normal levels during the remission phase. This research provides valuable insights into the electrolyte imbalances associated with nephrotic syndrome in children. [Extracted from the article]
