Abstract
- Researchers at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico have conducted a study on carbon nanotubes and their potential as drug carriers. They synthesized nanocomposites using a terpolymer of poly(L-lactide) (PLLA)-poly(e-caprolactone) (PCL)-poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and partially oxidized carbon nanotubes (CNTs [ [po] ]). The nanocomposites were characterized and evaluated for their ability to deliver the anticancer drug methotrexate. The study found that the nanocomposites exhibited a burst effect profile in drug release, and the release mechanism was determined to be Fickian diffusion. This research provides insights into the synthesis and characterization of nanocomposites for drug delivery applications. [Extracted from the article]
