Abstract

A new study conducted by researchers at Government College University Faisalabad in Pakistan focuses on the urgent need for new therapeutic strategies to combat extensively drug-resistant Salmonella Typhi (XDR-S. Typhi). The researchers synthesized pyrazine carboxamides and evaluated their antibacterial activities against XDR-S. Typhi. One compound, 5d, showed the strongest antibacterial activity. In addition, the researchers performed in vitro Alkaline Phosphatase inhibitor activity tests and in silico studies to understand the interactions between the synthesized compounds and target proteins. This research provides valuable insights into potential new treatments for XDR-S. Typhi infections. [Extracted from the article]
