Abstract

A study conducted at Mansoura University in Egypt has explored the synthesis and antimicrobial properties of thiophene-linked 1,2,4-triazoles. The researchers found that these compounds exhibited significant antimicrobial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, but were inactive against fungal strains. Additionally, some of the compounds showed potent anti-proliferative activity against cancer cell lines. The study also included a structural insight analysis and molecular docking studies. The research suggests that these compounds have potential as antimicrobial and chemotherapeutic agents. [Extracted from the article]
