Abstract
- For several years we have been investigating the influence of technology on the teaching and learning of mathematical proof. The use of technological tools brings the possibility for different types conceptualizations of mathematical objects which may help or hinder the processes involved in the development of proofs. One of our interests has been to promote and observe how students develop the functional language that is necessary for the construction of intellectual proofs. In this paper, we will present data from a teaching experiment that included the use of dynamic geometry-based activities for the construction of geometrical proofs with the use of a distance communication setting to develop the language component.
