Abstract
- This article is a roundtable discussion with three Black parliamentarians in Canada, who share their experiences as Black candidates and parliamentarians in predominantly white legislatures. They emphasize the importance of representation and building connections with Black communities, while also discussing the challenges they face in advocating for their communities. The parliamentarians highlight the need for education and engagement within the Black community to navigate the political process. The text emphasizes the challenges faced by Black parliamentarians, the importance of Black caucuses, and the need for inclusivity, support, and resources for Black politicians. It also calls for uncomfortable conversations, allies, and collective efforts to advance the agenda of progress. [Extracted from the article]
