Abstract
- Researchers at Aix-Marseille University in Marseille, France have identified a new class of small-molecule inhibitors that show promise in treating enterovirus infections. Enteroviruses are a genus of RNA viruses that can cause various diseases, particularly in children and immunocompromised individuals. Currently, there are no approved treatments for enteroviruses, except for polioviruses and EV-A71 in China. The new inhibitors target the viral capsid and have shown activity against EV-A71, with potential for broad-spectrum treatment. Further research is needed to develop these inhibitors into effective antiviral drugs. [Extracted from the article]
