Abstract

A recent meta-analysis conducted by researchers at the University of Groningen compared the use of remimazolam and propofol for general anesthesia in elderly patients. The study found that remimazolam was associated with lower rates of hypotension and bradycardia, as well as a lower incidence of injection pain. However, remimazolam did result in a longer time to loss of consciousness. Overall, the researchers concluded that remimazolam is an effective and well-tolerated alternative to propofol for elderly patients undergoing general anesthesia. [Extracted from the article]
