Abstract

A recent report from the Department of Urology in Fujian, China, explores the role of the ECT2 gene in prostate cancer. The study found that ECT2 is highly expressed in prostate cancer cell lines and that its knockdown inhibits cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and glycolysis. The research also discovered that the transcription factor ETS1 directly binds to the ECT2 promoter and positively regulates its expression. These findings suggest that ETS1-induced upregulation of ECT2 enhances the malignant behavior of prostate cancer cells, providing a theoretical basis for potential treatment strategies.
