Abstract

A study conducted by researchers from Mustafa Kemal University explores the potential anticarcinogenic effects of three phytochemicals, Alpha-pinene, Gamma-terpinene, and P-cymene, on melanoma cells. The study also investigates the synergistic activities of these phytochemicals with Dacarbazine, a chemotherapy drug. The researchers found that these phytochemicals, particularly Gamma-terpinene, exhibited significant antitumoral activity in a subcutaneous mouse tumor model. When combined with Dacarbazine, the Gamma-terpinene plus Dacarbazine treatment group showed a 3.5-fold reduction in tumor diameter compared to the Dacarbazine group. This research provides insights into potential therapeutic options for melanoma treatment. [Extracted from the article]
