Abstract
- A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Missouri explores the role of plasminogen activation inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) in promoting resilience to acute oxidative stress in cerebral arteries, specifically in females. The study found that PAI-1 can limit cell death and mitochondrial depolarization in male mice, while in female mice, the absence of PAI-1 led to increased cell death and mitochondrial depolarization. These findings have implications for stroke treatment and the restoration of blood flow. The study was published in the journal Pharmaceuticals. [Extracted from the article]
