Abstract
- A new report discusses research findings on African swine fever (ASF), an emerging disease caused by the African swine fever virus (ASFV) that poses a significant threat to the global swine industry. The study evaluated the deletion of the A137R gene in the ASFV virulent Stavropol_01/08 strain and found that it did not fully attenuate the strain. The researchers also identified the p11.5 protein as a potential serological DIVA marker for an attenuated ASF vaccine. This information may be useful for those studying ASF and working towards the development of safe vaccines. [Extracted from the article]
