Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention in China examined the epidemiological characteristics of human rabies cases reported from 2006 to 2022. The study found that rabies remains a significant public health threat in China, with incidence rates consistently above the national average. The research highlighted the importance of implementing effective prevention and control measures, including a robust dog management system, the development of animal vaccines, and improved post-exposure prophylaxis. The study concluded that various government measures have played a key role in reducing the incidence of rabies, but further efforts are needed to prevent the resurgence of epidemics and halt the spread of the virus among host animals.
