Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Fu Jen Catholic University in New Taipei, Taiwan, explored the role of the inhibitor of DNA-binding 2 (ID2) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study found that ID2 expression is inversely correlated with NSCLC cell invasiveness. The researchers overexpressed ID2 in H1299 cells and discovered that it effectively inhibited migration, invasion, proliferation, and colony formation abilities. They also identified the basal promoter region of ID2 and examined the DNA methylation status of the ID2 promoter. The study suggests that the transcription factor Yin Yang 1 (YY1) may play a crucial role in regulating ID2 expression and repressing cancer cell growth. [Extracted from the article]
