Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Milano Bicocca in Italy examined the relationship between access to antenatal care and the risk of preterm birth among migrant women. The study found that migrants had a significantly higher risk of preterm birth compared to Italian citizens. However, the researchers also discovered that adherence to antenatal care could mitigate this risk, with the potential for a 37% reduction in preterm birth risk if all pregnant women adhered to antenatal care. The study highlights the importance of equal access to antenatal care for all women, regardless of their migration status, in order to reduce the risk of preterm birth. [Extracted from the article]
