A study conducted by the National Agricultural Technology Institute in Balcarce, Argentina, focused on the rabies virus and its control through mass animal vaccination campaigns. The study aimed to test the large-scale expression of the rabies N protein in a prokaryotic system. The recombinant N protein was successfully expressed and purified, and it was able to induce the production of specific antibodies in a mouse immunization assay.
