Abstract
- Researchers at the Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust have made advancements in the understanding of mandibulofacial dysostosis, a rare genetic disorder. The study focused on a female patient who was initially diagnosed with achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, but exhibited additional symptoms that were not fully explained by this diagnosis. Further investigation revealed that the patient had a dual diagnosis of achondroplasia and mandibulofacial dysostosis with microcephaly. This case highlights the complexity of genetic diagnoses and the potential for coexistence of multiple genetic syndromes in a single patient. [Extracted from the article]
