Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Riga Technical University in Latvia explored the influence of crystallinity and porosity on the qualities of endodontic cement and natural hydroxyapatite-based biomaterials. The researchers examined a biphasic biomaterial consisting of natural hydroxyapatite and endodontic cement and tested three different concentrations of the composite material. The study found that the material with the highest porosity and a crystallite size similar to hydroxyapatite in natural bone showed potential as a bone substitute material. This research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the development of composite materials for bone substitution. [Extracted from the article]
