Abstract
- A new report from Edinburgh Napier University discusses research findings on the occupational roles of nurses and midwives in the UK. The study aims to understand the choices made by nurses and midwives in their careers and the factors that influence their decision to work outside of direct clinical practice. The research used data from the Nursing and Midwifery Council register, which was linked to the 2021 census for England and Wales. This study provides concrete evidence on the actual occupational roles of nurses and midwives and aims to inform policy decisions. [Extracted from the article]
