Abstract
- Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences have reported new findings in the field of gene therapy. The study focused on modifying polyethyleneimine (PEI), a commonly used polymer material in gene delivery, to reduce its cytotoxicity. The researchers used the hydrogen peroxide oxidation method to introduce degradable amide groups in PEI, resulting in improved transfection efficiency, reduced cytotoxicity, and improved degradability. This work has significant implications for the clinical applications of PEI in gene delivery. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in the Chinese Journal of Polymer Science.
