Abstract

A study conducted by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Harbin, China, has provided new insights into the immune escape of the emerging novel variant of the Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV). The research found that specific residues in the viral capsid protein are involved in the immune escape of the virus. The study suggests that these findings could help in the design of novel vaccines that match the antigen of the epidemic strain. The research was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research & Development Program of China. [Extracted from the article]
