Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Sydney in Australia has developed and validated whole-body sweat rate prediction equations for individuals performing indoor cycle ergometer and treadmill exercise. The study used a combination of model development and validation trials to measure whole-body sweat rates and develop prediction models. The results showed that the prediction equations had a high level of accuracy, with mean absolute errors of 0.01 L·h-1 for cycle trials and 0.02 L·h-1 for treadmill trials. The study also found that the prediction equations were applicable to both male and female subjects. The prediction equations are publicly available for use and can be accessed at https://sweatratecalculator.com. [Extracted from the article]
