Abstract

A study conducted by the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and vice president for education aimed to assess the effectiveness of ursodiol in preventing biliary complications after liver transplant from donors after cardiac death. The study found that there was no significant difference in biliary complications between patients who received ursodiol and those who did not. The research concluded that ursodiol prophylaxis did not show a difference in preventing biliary complications for recipients of liver transplant from donors after cardiac death.
